Hi all
My best mate has just set up an online shopping website (which I believe I'm not allowed to post the link to so I'll have to try and describe this as best I can!) She has used Mr Site. She sells various products, spread over several pages. Next to each product is a button marked "Add to basket". However, when the button is clicked, instead of taking the buyer straight to the "Shopping cart", it takes them to another page where every single product she sells is listed again. The buyer then has to find the product they are trying to buy in this alphabetical list, click another button saying "Buy now" and only then does it go to the cart. It is driving her, and most of her buyers mad. She has had messages from visitors to the site saying that they were put off ordering by this problem. She has been on the Mr Site forum and other users are having exactly the same problem. Mr Site say they have no plans to change this. My question is: is there any way that she can use her existing website as it is, apart from the Shopping Cart, but use a totally different site provider for her shopping cart? If there is any way that it can be done, can someone let me know (in plain English!). Both she and I are html virgins, learning as we go along, so it would have to be pretty easy to do. It would simply have to work that as soon as a buyer clicks on the "Add to Cart" button it would actually go to a shopping cart, even if the cart was based on a different site. Thanks! Emma

I've never seen or used Mr Site but if they dont plan on changing things - then its clear your best mate should start looking elsewhere for alternative shopping carts that does what she wants it to do .
Trying to hack around others peoples scripts is hard at the best of times - and by the sound of it you and your best mate only have quite limited html skills - so trying to change things yourselfs would soon bring you pals Mr Site shopping cart to complete halt - no offence intended .
IMHO pull the plug and cut your losses

Well, for the time being, she has managed to find a shopping cart on a different site, that she has managed to link to each of her products. As a stopgap, it works and certainly cuts out the problem that's been putting people off ordering. Thanks.
