SP2 Problems
      #309778 - Sun Oct 15 2006 05:08 PM

I have been given a second hand computer from a friend which had XP on SP1; I decided to download SP2 for the PC and ever since then, all it does is reboot. I don't get any error messages, can get in via safe mode, but there are no icons so I can't even do a system restore. Any ideas or is there any more information I should be providing?!

Thanks

can you get to a command prompt

Start the computer, and press the F8 key, choose the safe mode with command prompt

IF you get the command prompt ( C:\> ) then type in the following:

c:\windows\system\restore\rstrui.exe

and press enter

Follow system restore wizard
