Have you identified the type of graphics slot you have on your motherboard - PCI, AGP or PCI Express?
Have you used Froogle to do some price comparisons?

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

I have not a clue to be honest with you.

This shows you the specs . It looks like your stuck with onboard graphics which will suit only for the most basics of tasks. The_DADDY My mistake ,,,its PCIe. However it only comes with a 220watt psu so any card that is system hungry may cause you some problems

What games are you wanting to play that require a better graphics card?
As Daddy says your PSU isn't up to the job and if i remember right Dell PSU's are a non standard size, if this is the case you can expect to pay over the odds for a more powerful one

Just got off phone with dell and what he said confused the hell out of me.He said the connector is a x1 connector and to get a pci video card.So how does that equate to cards mentioned in my orginial post.

This is a PCI video card Its much slower than AGP and PCIe. To be honest the only reason i can think of for him suggesting this is heat and power consumption but the actual specs of the Dell are copied and pasted are below..
I/O Ports and Connectors Externally accessible 6 USB 2.0 ports (Four rear ports and two front ports) 1 RJ45 Ethernet port 1 Video: 15-hole connector
Sound card connectors (1 line-in, 1 line-out and microphone, one front panel connector for headphones)
Internally accessible Primary IDE drive: 40-pin connector on PCI local bus Serial ATA: Two 7-pin connectors FlexBay drive: USB 10-pin header for optional floppy drive or Media Card Reader (3.5" bay devices) PCI 2.3: 120-pin connector PCI Express x1: 36-pin connector CD drive audio interface: 4-pin connector Fan: One 5-pin connector
Slots 2 PCI slots One PCIe x1
As you can see in Dells own description it says 1xPCIe. Hope this helps The_DADDY

It means you can get a PCI-Express card which are the latest standard and will help you play LMA, remember your PSU though, you will need to upgrade it to support a new Graphics Card.
As with Dell you may have to pay over the odds for upgrading your PSU, as for some unbeknown reason they change the sizes of the PSU's for their machines they build.
There's a standard for a reason.

Dates, ask them on the Dell forum, theres regulars there that give a very non biased opinion I find. Also, from my own experience dont buy upgrading components from Dell. Sure ask them what will work but they do lie. From my own experience they will try and sell you something which could be a higher spec purely because they dont have the higher spec component in stock.
These cards are the mutts nutts http://www.nvidia.com/object/reality_redefined.html they have just come out.
