PC Drivers - up dating of.
      #306818 - Wed Sep 27 2006 08:11 PM

Hi

Can anyone please advise me on a good/safe driver check website that can scan your PC for the most up to date drivers for your pc hardware, ie - Graphics cards etc etc.

Thanks in advance

Solley

I'm sure the techies would agree but unless you're having problems with your graphics etc. leaving well alone would be prudent. If it ain't broke .....

You can do a free check of your drivers HERE The site is recommended by pcpitstop and is safe enough. However, don't pay to download any drivers. Once you know which ones it claims are out of date, visit the manufacturers website and download any new ones they recommend for free.

Sorry, dodgy link pcpitstop.com

I'd go along with that. As it says on the PC Pitstop site:

Note: Just because a driver is newer does not necessarily mean it is better, or that it is stable.

As long as things are working well, I leave them alone!

Hi

Thank's for the advice to everyone who replied to my post, i have no driver problems & am well aware that the latest drivers are not always the best.

Whilst searching the nett i had found the website that Nicky flynn gave before i posted my question, this site looks ok as a reference though.

My drivers all work fine so i think i will just leave them as they are.

Thank's

Solley

You're welcome. I think you're right to leave things alone if everything's working well. Once, when I updated a driver, I had problems and had to roll back to the previous one. Since then, I haven't bothered when things are already working fine.
