finally....communicate with other road users
      #306815 - Wed Sep 27 2006 08:04 PM

Please look at and review www.peeppeep.co.uk

This allows you to

take 4 digits from a Registration plate and comment on their driving (good/bad) - see DriveChat

makes it easy to e-mail Councils for road repairs/improvements - see Take Action

lets you appeal for people to drive safely in your area - see Please Consider

and much more. Particularly would like feedback about its functionality and also the whole concept of peeppeep.

Thanks

Whilst this site appears not to be a commercial one, per se, perhaps you could explain how it fits into the remit of a personal site when it has been produced by a company, Solasta Ltd.?

Solasta is my mates company. As he helped design it then thought it was fair to let him put his company on it. It's not commercial, no ads etc.

What do you think of it?

I'm not convinced it fits the spirit of the remit for Readers' Sites.

It fails on at least one count, possibly more; users have to register to use the site!

It hasn't been produced by an enthusiast (in line with the spirit of the remit).

People can browse and if they want to contribute anything then they register. Like lots of other sites, including some here.

I would appreciate others feedback but its your call

I'd appreciate it if you'd let me know which ones here. Unfortunately I don't get to read every thread on the forum so may have missed the sites you're referring to.

Not for me to point to others websites - but after you raised this I looked at 6 websites and found 2 that involve registering. Are you allowing my site to stay on? Hope you will and that others will give their opinion/feedback

Hi like the site, my only crit would be that there is a fair amount of blank space on the home page, but this is really nit picking.
As for asking users to register, well you have to or your forum would be full of abuse and spam in no time.
Mr.Admin (sorry forgot you name) If I made a site to list commercial sites done by WebUser readers would I be allowed to link to it from your wonderful forum? If it contained no adverts? I'm guessing not but just thought I'd ask

Great idea with potential, not sure about the validity of the site on the forum. You just have to go with the Mods. My site was taken off but I think it was fair and justified and explained politely

Thanks for these comments. Appreciate that one day I might hope it becomes a commercial site but right now it is not.

Would people find the ability to make their own posts on Peep's Opinion better? Someone e-mailed me to that effect and that seems a good suggestion.

Also the space on front page is for more Hot Topics so that it has more immediate issues of interest there. Just haven't got round to adding these as yet but they are coming soon

Any other comments always very welcome. Thanks again
