need advice on buying new monitor
      #306236 - Fri Sep 22 2006 07:45 PM

hi everyone, i'm new to this forum so hello etc hope you're all good.
caught an advert for pc world selling this:
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/martprd/product/seo/918514?camp_id=right_nav
it has no dvi connection so is no good but just as a ball park i thought the price wasn't bad. i have read up on what is thought to be a good monitor but it gets confusing and it seems that the fine details are the difference between getting a good buy and a not so good one. the monitor will be used for games so, and as i understand it, the response time must be low and the gray to grey, if that's right.
the pc world monitor was £149 so can anyone recommend anything to me before my head explodes in confusion.
thankyou
cheers
dirt

Welcome to the forum. Here is one that is suitable but trawl through the rest on this site, there are some better ones which are also higher priced. Good luck.

thanks for that reply.
good price but i can see two things i don't like.
the response time should be no more than 4ms so i'm told for gaming.
also, and i don't mean to be picky but it's the look of the thing.
i know design isn't everything but if it's pretty then bonus!!
thanks again for the reply.

Very nice but I was looking at pricing originally. If your budget will stretch then go for it. Hope it is as good as it looks. Good luck
