Can any one suggest why my sound card appears to have suddenly stopped working? Last week the sound was fine, but for no apparent reason, I can get no audio at all from either speakers or headphones. I have checked the headphones on my CD player, and my speakers are fine when connected to my radio & MP3 - so the fault must be on my computer. I have tried the usual checks as suggested in the Windows Trouble-shooter guide, but no success. Any help would be appreciated.

I take it you have tried to re-install soundcard or software.

try these steps. it's about a thorough as you can get: http://www.fonerbooks.com/sound.htm if these steps fail then try installing a friends soundcard in your pc or your sound card in there's. i know this is simple stuff but just thought i'd put it in. also try reseating the card in it's slot or changing the slot it's in altogether. have you installed anything recently, a game maybe, when was the last time the sound worked?
