Morning Peeps,
Recently aquired a 17" flat screen. Very nice! However some, well 99%, of web pages only use around half of the monitor's visible screen. Is there a way i can use the whole of the monitor?
Also keep getting a pop up from the monitor itself saying optimum res 1600 x 1200. So i changed that but everything was tiny and we had to squint to read some stuff! That can't be right can it? So for now it's set on the next res down, which the monitor keeps telling me isn't right.
Any ideas would be muchly appreciated!
Love D x

Flat screens like to run at the pixel rate designed by the manufacturer, in your case 1600x1200. What's the make and model of your screen?

Are you sure about the screen size/model number? The NEC numbering system for screens normally means that the first two numbers indicate the diagonal screen size. In this case it means a 20 inch screen rather than 17 inch.

Probably is a 20". Didn't have a measure to hand, just guessed at 17"! It's a big thing though.
Bless me for being numb...

I couldn't find the 2080 but I guess the 2090 shown in this link is virtually the same. It says that the optimum display is 1600 x 1200 at 60hz but it does offer other resolutions as well.
If you have a look at the User Guide here under Troubleshooting, Tag 9 you will see this :-
Resolution Notifier The optimal resolution is 1600 x 1200. If ON is selected, a message will appear on the screen after 30 seconds, notifying you that the resolution is not set to 1600 x 1200. Press “Left” or “Right” to select
