Tony , Kernel32.DLL errors are notoriously difficult to nail down due to the fact that error message can be provoked by multiple files or/and programs.
Could you tell us if , There is any more details on the error message you get. Do you use another browser and is it problem free. How long have you been using Netscape 8.1 and did the previous version work OK. Have you scanned your PC for viruses , malware/spyware.
If we can determine it's Netscape that's the cause then it may help a little.
I've just added...this...to show the many possible causes of KERNEL32.DLL errors.

Hi Just started to use Netscape when problem appeared. Have done virus checks adware etc, and no problem with other browser but switched to Netscape from Internet Explorer when Explorer seemed to be running on the slow side.

If Internet Explorer is running slow there may be a connection with the Netscape problem.
What tools have you used to check for infection ? Have you tried a free online scan such as... Trend Micro...or... Panda active scan. Worth a try , you've nothing to lose and it may pick up something.
In the meantime have you thought about using an alternative browser to Netscape. I can highly recommend... Mozilla Firefox...one of the most popular available.

Have you checked to see if you get the same error message if you use Internet Explorer? I agree with FifeFlyer about Firefox and another good browser is Opera
