Hi jpd, I think there is something called Audio cleaning Lab and although I can't be sure I think there is a free trial version available on their site (sorry, don't know the address but try typing the name into Google and it will come up with something) I can't speak for it's quality but I've heard it's ok. Most likely someone else be along soon and might offer more and better advice, Regards, Steve.

TFC, I got a programme called LP Ripper v4 on the cover of a magazine the other day. Are you familiar with this and if so how does it compare with Magic?
Joe.

Hi Joe,
I'm afraid I am not familiar with that one, actually I'm not familiar with the Magix program either, although I did have an early sample/mixer application from them 5-6 years ago and it was very user-friendly.
I'm already wired up to an amp/mixer/patch-bay combo which allows me to record to and from the PC, Turntables, CD, Cassette, Video, TV, DVD, Minidisk, & Synths - and you think you've got a birds nest behind your desk, that's nuffink.
As for tidying up vinyl recordings, I don't. If the track is too damaged I tend not to record it - fortunately, the vast majority of my vinyl is in good nick.

The program I use is Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 2004, take a look here: http://site.magix.net/index.php?id=411
Nero 6 also has the ability to cleanup and transfer vinyl to CD.
For some very good help on how to etc: http://wavecor.co.uk/links.htm
Finally and it should have been first you will need the correct cable for recording from player to computer. wavecor will guide you.
My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely.
