sharing printer on home network
      #297663 - Thu Aug 03 2006 01:18 PM

I have 2 pcs running ms homenetwork workgroup, both are running xp pro, they are connected with a x over cable. Both have access to the internet. However the one not connected to the printer although seeing it wont print to it, it also cant see shared files on the other pc. The main pc has all file and printer sharing boxes ticked and can see files on the other one. Does ms home workgroup need a x over cable? or is it something else?

You have to assign each its own ip address in the same range and subnet mask, eg PC 1 192.168.1.100
PC 2 192.169.1.101

Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0

--------------------
OK OK I can't go any faster! aaaaaaaaaaaagh!
