It looks very good, but not for me as you need to have BB. Oh well, I'll just have to stick with my external hard drive and I won't be able to get you your extra 256MB!

Yes Madeline, you definitely need BB as that initial upload takes a long time, and I didn't have that many files really to back up worth doing though if you do have BB

Thank you for letting us know about this.

I never back up files because it's a hassle but this is nice and easy and I used your referral code so enjoy the extra storage

Maybe I'll be able to get BB one day! There's a news item on here and the BBC about Ofcom considering various proposals about boosting wi-fi in rural areas because they want everyone to be able to have BB. I live in hope, but I won't be holding my breath!

Thanks for the refferals and here's some more info which is from the Mozy FAQ's

Will it take that long next time?
Mozy does what are called "differential" backups, which means that it only backs up portions of your files that have changed since the last time they were backed up. This saves lots of time, bandwidth and storage space. After your initial backup, your subsequent backups should be relatively quick and chances are that you won't even notice them.

I've set a date/time for the differential backups so I will be watching the progress next weekend.

I have set mine to do daily backups at midnight, my computer is always on then. I figured that it would only take a couple of minutes a day as it only back up new/changed files rather then much longer if I only did it weekly or something. I will see how it goes tonight.

Thankyou. I've had it running a few of weeks now and after the initial upload which takes a while my weekly updates only take between 10 and 12 minutes.
It must have been a good tip because I'm reliably informed that it won the £25 prize in the latest issue of Webuser but I haven't had it confirmed by the 'management' yet, maybe tomorrow.

Better late than never. Decided to get it today, didn't get it straight away as I was reluctant to allow myself to be spammed, even if it is only once a week.

Chris I've only had the obligatory e-mail when I registered and another when I downloaded some backup files which informed me my files were ready. Nothing else at all !

Ooops spoke too soon - got a newsletter today but one e-mail in five weeks can't be bad.

Since Spencer suggested I change my NTL account name about a year ago I am totally spam free. which is brilliant. First time I started to download Mozy I couldn't get past the bit where you had choose your likes & dislikes. Managed to overcome that, I am sure it will be worth it, thanks for posting Ray. Yes I had a news letter today just asking me to upgrade to the paid for version, to be expected really. It's the other stuff I was worried about, but still once a week is nothing.

I also got an email today Ray, which made me chuckle after your comment yesterday We were never bothered with spam, until Orange took over from Wanadoo, coincidence???
