I did this ages ago as i didnt like the way tiny urls work - like some other users i like to know where i'm going before i click on something .
Puting that aside though there is one good thing about vhit , All the major search engines crawl it at least once or twice a week and instead of manually submitting a new url to all the major search engines - you only need to add it to vhit once for it to be picked up by all the major search engines .
Just really mention it as i've seen some users ask for tips on how to promote their website on the web user forum .
From the feedback i recieved about vhit - some users can figure it out in a matter of seconds - some other users take a bit longer .
