The save password option is grayed out. Can anyone let me know how to re-instate this option so that I do not have to enter the password everytime.

You never stated what software, system, dialer, or ISP you were using. I'm sure people didn't answer since you weren't specific enough. Maybe if you add more info, I may not be able to help-but someone else may. Hope your problem gets/got resolved.

I feel to network two computers(windows 95,98, 2000 or xp) on a dial-up network you need the following items:
-one rj-45 cable -a network card -a driver -to enable you do the following network configuration: -network protocol -network client -network service
At the end of which you can start the phase of internet sharing and this has to do with whether you want to use one of the two pc's as a host pc or not. Or you want to use an internet sharing software. Whatever the case, you will also need to do the configuration for internet sharing.

Thanks for your post, but was looking to help the user before me and I'm not sure what their problem was. Are you sure that this went on the right thread? In any case, you seemed to answer a question on how to set up for (2) computers with dial-up, and that's the key-that you were helpful. I've switched to DSL (phone-line) and what a difference. Thanks again!

I tried to figure out what he was talking about since there were no hints relevant to the os, the type of computer, his isp or network device(s). If he can give these details, we can think about the appropriate solution?

Well, Eon seems to be no-show, but at least we made an attempt to help. Good luck on your networking and dial-up stuff and nice meeting people like yourself that are looking to help expecting nothing in return.

I think the philosophy behind discussion forums is that you learn something and this is usually by sharing the little you know among the community of internet users. It sounds naive but that is it?

I think you're right about the philosophy behind forums like this. I came here originally because I was new to computing and needed help; also I wanted to learn as much as I could. Now I try to help where I can and it's nice to be able to give something back to a site that's given me a great deal; I still need to ask for help sometimes too, I expect I always will.
