WinDVD Creator 2 Help needed plz
      #295335 - Sat Jul 22 2006 11:14 PM

I bought a Sony Handycam on which I filmed the last few holidays my wife and I have been on. The Handycam records direct to mini DVD+RW discs and I therefore now have 4 discs full of various clips ranging from different holidays to days out blah blah.

So I thought today I would spend some time creating a few DVD's from the mini discs so I can erase the data on the mini discs in order for me to re-use them.

I tried to use the software I purchased online about 6 months which was WinDVD Creator 2, however this program froze almost everytime. I remember having the same problem when i first downloaded the program but managed to do what I wanted so forgot about it until now.

Does anyone know of any problems with this program?

It seems to freeze when I add alot of little scenes to make up a movie. As each disc is 30 minutes long I have some bits on each disc that I want on different DVD's if that makes sense. For Example, for the first 5 mins on the disc is of our "late" dog, then our recent holiday is for about 20 mins and then a day out for the last 5 mins. For my holiday DVD I only obviousley want from minute 5 to minute 25, however when I remove that portion to make into a movie, the program crashes either upon seperating the appropriate scenes or making the actual movie. It just freezes the screen for maybe 2-3 minutes and says program not responding and then does an error report to Microsoft.

I would appreciate any advice on this. Even if you cant help with the WinDVD problem, do you know any good dvd editing software. With my HandyCam I figured I could record what I wanted in any order without swapping discs for various events and then using editing software, break down the scenes, remove some, keep some and then make a dvd to view. Is this even possible? Is it that I am using a rubbish video editing tool. I am confused lol

Thanks in advance
