A joke website i did ages ago
      #295248 - Sat Jul 22 2006 03:24 PM

http://www.kontractkillers.co.uk

Despite the url i can assure you 100% it is a joke website .

About 6 months ago (or whatever) when i started to learn PHP i did this as a way of improving my php skills as building a full website is sometimes more valuable that just messing around with php code snippets .

For want of a better description - its kinda like a hire a hit man survey .

- some people complete the questions in full

- some people bottle out about half way the process

The following is what i use as a bookmark and you dont need to go though the full process if you dont want too .

Cool! Obviously I knew it was a joke site from your post, but I went all the way through just to see what happened in the end! A good stress-buster if you're a bit angry with someone too.

I used to have another joke website that pretended to sell cannabis via the internet .

It looked just like a proper commercial website and some people where really taken in by it to the extent they where *really* *really* annoyed at the end of the buying process when they got told it was a joke website .

At the end of the process i had a feedback form and some users had no problem venting their anger as they thought they had found heaven .

Some of the comments and suggestions aimed at me are unsuitable for a family forum like web user .

If memory serves - the first year turnover was about £2,000,000 and like them i wished it was a real website as well :-)

I'd love to have seen the cannabis one, but I can understand why people might have been a bit annoyed!

I had it on a couple of different web hosting companys and none of them had a problem with it as i emailed them first to explain it wasnt a real website - some of them even thought it was quite funny .

I still have it on the hard disk - but i have other work to do and dont want to get sidetracked as it would need some work done to it first before being brought back online .

If neither of you are in a rush i guess i could revive it in about 2 weeks or summit .

Some joke websites are best left undone though .

I had a idea for fake fast food resturant that sold dog burgers - with the company logo being a dogs head with its tongue hanging out .

But like i said some things are best left undone as i value my good health and dont like hospital food :-)

That would be great if you have time to do it, but don't worry if you haven't. I'll keep looking out for it though, just in case!

I cant really get sidetracked from doing the www.phpnews.co.uk website and while its a case of never say never its unlikely to appear for at least a 4-6 weeks the way things currently stand .

But yeah everybody liked it :-)

Obviously your website must take priority over something frivolous, but I'll check back here from time to time anyway. I like your site, do you get Xargs only in Glasgow?

I might have a couple of screenshots of the cannabis website on the hard disk - will have a look later .

As you can imagine the Xarg stuff is just for testing :-)

Your welcome to write some made up storys in you want .

Here ya go hun the cannabis screenshots as promised .

http://www.emailuser.co.uk/mad3.jpg
http://www.emailuser.co.uk/mad4.jpg

The website was worked on and improved since these screenshots where taken - but they are close enough to get the idea .

I will be deleting these screenshots in about 24-48hrs time and anybody interested can put them on their own webspace if wanted .

I never did get around to asking the Xargs what they thought of the cannabis window website :-)

Thank you very much! I've had a look at all the links and it was an excellent site, I can see how people would have been fooled by it. You should get the Xargs to look at your screenshots before it's too late!
