If he won't post it I will. Probably the most important site posted, well done Mr. Rubble. Barney's place.
Should be pinned?

Absolutely brilliant, all I'll ever need on one site. Will certainly be back (at home, as opposed to work tut tut) to update my computer. Cheers, Barney

What a godsend and so timely. Having started afresh with a clean HDD and XP, this is ideal for me to get clean downloads. Thanks, Barney, I (and others) owe you one!

Just checked in my favourites when I installed Barney's Place there and it has been a fixture since he announced his web site on 5th December. Keep up the good work Barney.

It's a wonderful website. Thank you Barney.
As you know, I've changed my firewall prog to Sygate and my mind was "put at rest" when I checked my firewall's performance. Without that link, I would never have been sure how well I was being protected!

Terrific Barney ! Thing is , you let too many people know of it and you'll be steering many of them away from the forums here , they'll just run to Barneys for help. LOL

Thanks for all that, everybody. It's nice to be appreciated.
With almost no knowledge and only Web Monkey to guide me, I started off one evening with an idea for an experimental HTML document to keep on my PC as a way of clearing my overloaded "favourites" folders, but when I found how easy it was, it just sort of developed and the next day I uploaded the first couple of pages as an actual website.
I've still got a lot to learn, but when I've found out how to use buttons I'm planning to add links from from any page to any other page, solving the present irritating problem of having to keep going back to the home page.
I'm also planning to "rationalise" the links at some point, grouping similar things together and replacing "inappropriate" ones, such as shopping sites, with something more relevant as well as adding a few more pages, but all that will have to wait until the new year. After today I've only got next Tuesday on line, then the computer can have a rest until about January 6th.
One thing I want to add is "Dino's D-I-Y page" for people building their own computers or creating their own websites, and if Web User doesn't beat me to it, at some point I'll be asking for detailed instructions on how to use the various ISPs' free space in the hope of getting a few more people started, but not yet. That will probably have to wait until about March, so don't post until I ask or I'm likely to miss it.
Thanks again everybody for all your help and encouragement. I couldn't have done it without you, and I'm just happy to be able to give something back to all those kind people who've helped me and continue to do so.

Hello again everybody, and thanks for all your continuing praise. Lucky I don't wear a hat. I'd never get one to fit nowadays.
Just thought I'd let you know I've added those links from every page to every page. They're not buttons yet, just plain links for now, but it should make navigation easier.
Happy Christmas everybody.

Site design leaves a little something to be desired, and are those images copyright Hannah-Babara (or whoever owns them)?

It's not supposed to be pretty. It is designed to provide quick links to software that is used extensively by members of this forum. It is 'for for purpose' and is absolutely invaluable. I imagine the images came from a site that publishes such things and as such are not copyrighted. Barney will no doubt enlighten us.
