Converting closing down my pc
      #292044 - Thu Jul 06 2006 11:18 PM

I am trying to convert an AVI file into a dvd file, something i have never had a problem with before, However for some reason now it is starting the procedure as normal then closing everything down and switching my pc off, can any help explain why and how to stop it?

How much RAM do you have> Are you closing down all other processes when you do it?

Are you fans in your case and on your processor working and clear from blockages? Converting can be a bit processor usage heavy, if the fans are not spinning properly then it may be overheating then shutting itself down to prevent damage.

i have plenty of ram and the fans are fine, it only switches itself of when a quarter of the way through converting, i have winavi converter and divx converter, at first i thought maybe there canceling eachother out so i uninstalled winavi and it still did it, then i did the opposite, same problem.

any other suggestions would be great.
