Some people may have thought of trying A Linux distro, those of us who have know it can sometimes be a bit of a headache and in some cases lead to problems. One solution is a Live cd which runs in memory without an install.
But now you can try Linux straight away, with a few clicks online through your browser, with nothing to install.
Quote:
Test Linux Desktop. Now!
You can now test the Linux operating system and desktop environment. It's as easy as ABC.
Simply click on "Start Linux". In a separate window, a complete Linux system will start on your PC, without requiring an installation. In certain web browsers, like Firefox, a small program file needs to be downloaded and run. You will be using the KDE-Desktop 3.2 desktop environment, which is equipped with the latest versions of Open Source applications, like office package Open Office, web browser Firefox, image-editing suite GIMP, and many more. Notice! No need for concern, this will be very easy. Nothing is going to be installed on your computer; the applications will simply run through your web-browser. The connection with our Open Source Demo Centre will be established in a separate window, which will function as your personal Linux system terminal. All the applications will be running on our servers.
After clicking "Start Linux!", a few more clicks are needed to establish the connection:
1. Approving the secure connection "You are about to establish a secure connection..." Please click OK at the warning notice 2. Approving the download of the client software shows the windows warning "Some files can cause damage on your computer..." Please click "Open the file" (recommended) or "Save the file" at the warning notice.
Works best through Internet Explorer, requires a small download if used through Firefox.

Thanks, I have always wondered what Linux was like but never had the knowledge to try it, now after this I think I will be sticking with Windows a little longer!
Thanks anyway.

That was a good find. Live CDs are often used to try out Linux, but people on dail-up may find the 600MB+ file a little too large.
I actually like Linux. I use it frequently and I use SUSE, which is excellent. I think for anyone learning or using something new like an operating system, there will always be the unsureness.
People get used to Windows or even Macs as Linux is seemed to be either strange or possibly difficult to install, use and configure.
I use Linux for most things that Windows can do, browse the internet, send email and listen to music. Although I use Linux, I do have Windows on another computer, for which I use more, but only because I need it for work.
