Could someone tell me if there is software available that i could download to stop people from helping themselves to pictures on my site?

Theres ways to protect your pictures but it will not stop someone from performing a screen dump to capture them.

The best way to establish copyrite on your pictures would be to sign them, like artists do. Doesn't have to be your name, a unique mark will do the trick.
