You may have overlooked the sticky at the head of this board, but it states;

'... Please post a link to the home page and a 30-50 word description of the site, explaining what it does, when you founded it and anything else you think is relevant...'

It also states;

'... A forum/blog alone is not a website, so links to forums/blogs may be removed...'

Maybe I'm missing something but your site appears to be a blog, albeit not in the traditional sense. Apart from the archive there is no site to explore, or comment on.

If that ain't a blog, then I ain't a gamer. Is there really any need for swearing on your site too? I am not a prude nor do I not claim to swear, far from it, however what I do know is when to swear and with what company, with a website, I'd never know who's reading it.

Most of your content is found on Stumbleupon, several emails and most open forum pages, isn't that "original" for me sorry. Obviously this is all IMO!

Appreciate the feedback folks; but in my defence.

1. Swearing, there is very little swearing on my site, and when done so it is for obvious comical effect.

2. The content is nearly all sourced by myself or suggested by subscribers so it appeals to my readership. The point of the site is pure entertainment but there are more serious aspects for example we were one of the 1st sites on the net to have the Iraqi mercenary video that was then picked up by the BBC. There are also many socio political items and comments, so to say the content is unoriginal is not only an unfair comment but also an ill informed one.

3. The fact that my traffic has more than tripled every month shows that i must be doing something right.

Cheers

E

Fair comment however I don't think the language is appropriate. I am not trying to put your site down you asked for feedback and that's what I am giving.

As for the content, you never told us what the site was about, so when I opened it and was greeted by stuff I've already saw, it didn't give me anything new or different. Perhaps next time you will give us a rundown of what your site is about first and then link us to it, that way you wouldn't be upset by the comments.

I'm afraid I have to agree with Mouse. There is absolutely nothing on your blog that can't be found elsewhere (not even the layout/CMS), nothing original, no USP - IMO.

" There is absolutely nothing on your blog that can't be found elsewhere "
Again another ill informed comment, did you actually read every post on my website?
There is actually content that no other website has, I know this as I made them myself.

example
another example

Warning: both do contain swearing so best not listen to them

I am afraid that I have to agree with Mouse and TheFatControlleR on this, there is not a single thing on your 'website' that I haven't seen before. Sorry to sound harsh but its true. It is laid out neatly though.

You don't seem to be able to take any criticism at all, what exactly was the point of asking for our comments and how is something seen before ill informed?

I disagree with the others here.

So what, it's a blog, a blog that is getting traffic, a blog that is increasing traffic. A steady growth in traffic - thats good for any web project.

The others who have "seen it all before" should remember that much of the internet is repetitive and duplicate. Just do a search on google news on any major current event and how many news sites are carrying the same story, video footage or photos? When presented with a choice of say, sky news, bbc news or cnn we will pick the brand we prefer. Some people obviously prefer this posters brand otherwise they wouldn't return to see what he's found lately.

Keep up what your doing and please yourself and your returning visitors.
