Is this the error http://www.avid.com/onlineSupport/supportcontent.asp?productID=97&contentID=7512&browse=
At the bottom of the screen it says delete the folder, so have a look for it and delete it.

hi burrwalnut, thanks for your response, but, the link that you gave me is the same one that i found through google!
unfortunately, there is no 'delete' message on my screen. ive tried the uk and usa sites, but niether show that feature!
i suppose i could contact them, but it seems to be a bit of a specialist site, and i dont know if they could really help me unless i actually had downloaded their program!
anyway, as i stated earlier, its not affecting my pc's performance (i hope lol). i can live with it.
thanks again,
bjt.

You need to look for and delete a folder that is zipped and probably located in 'your' download location, i.e. the location you have, in the past, earmarked for downloads.

hi fifeflyer,
funny you should ask!
AVG, A2SQUARED, AHEAD NERO, NERO MEDIA PLAYER, FRESHUI, MICROSOFT WORKS, and finally, WEBPLUS 7.0.
all downloaded within the past few days!
im pretty sure that the problem was here though before any of the above downloads.

Sorry i didn't word my post very well , when i said install i meant have you tried to load an application from a cd or disc to your pc. Apologies , as i realize i've thrown you off the original thought that this problem was related to AVID , it's just that googling error 60030 seems to come up with many other possibilities. I think it's important you follow through with BurrWalnut's advice first before trying any thing else. Let us know how it goes.

hi fifeflyer,
was 60030 a typing error?
sorry for delay in responding, but still trying to work out what ive installed from disk lately.
A2squared was installed from a disk and Nero ahead also.
ill delete these with the add/remove program and see if this makes any difference.

Yes , sorry bjt. I'm on my second dayshift of 4 ( 12 hour shifts ) and i'm a bit tired and really should avoid the forum until my rest days, but you become kinda addicted and can't stay away. Anyway , have you exhausted the original thought that it was a problem with AVID ? My train of thought was that when you install a programme from a disc it sometimes uses install shield wizard as a way of installing the software easier. Therefore the error 6003 may relate to a specific application you have recently put on your pc. If this error only started appearing after you installed A2 or Nero you could try a system restore to a time before you installed these , then , if the message doesn't appear you will know if one of these is the culprit. If that is the case then we would have to look at the next step.
