Depends on what you do with your computer, XP home is aimed for the everyday user while pro is more expensive but has more features, the main three being support for:
* Remote Desktop * Encrypting File System * Multi-Processor support
It also has a lot more networking options and settings the xp home. This site has a breakdown of all the differences but it is fairly old and some of these won't stand anymore due to Microsoft updates.
