Being new to computing i don`t know what this means or if it is serious.Would really appreciate any help concerning this(plain english if possible!!!).Thanks.

This could be the result of spyware or a virus, but it could also simply be a matter of IE getting corrupted. Have you tried a repair on IE via add/remove programs?

Also, you could schedule a disk check to verify integrity of files. If these fail, you could try a Windows repair with your install disk, as it may be corruption in Windows beyond just IE.

There are links in my signature for all what you need to help check for spyware and viruses.

Thanks Mouse,I am using NOD32 and AD AWARE SE so apparently a virus problem is unlikely,or so i am told. Can you advise on how to repair IE via add/remove program, disc check and windows re-install.As i said earlier i am a complete computer virgin!!!If it entails too much on your part could you direct me to any other help sites? Thanks a lot.

To repair IE:

Click Start then select Run.

Type sfc /scannow (Note: There is a space between sfc and /scannow)
Select the OK button.
Follow the prompts throughout the System File Checker process.
Reboot the computer when System File Checker completes.
