Sound output and Microphone Input

Can any one help? I dont have any Mic Input or sound to my sound System
The input for my mic is pink it won't work but it will give me output sound if i plug my speeker system into it
The light Green wich sould be the output to my sound i get nothing
There is a Blue Socket nothing from that pink Mic O LightGreen SoundO BlueO

it shud be on the back of your computer
if not need a new sound card

Are these sockets/inputs on the back of your PC or hifi system?
