Registry Cleaner
      #279496 - Sun May 07 2006 07:02 PM

Can anyone recommend a good registry cleaner as I've been using norton utilities 2002 to fix any errors, but now Xp is taking about 3 minutes to load before it gets to the log on screen as the computer is now 4 years old (waiting for Vista launch to get a new one) it's got more crap than norton can deal with I think.

I know there are better ones than norton but it came with the computer and I never got round to changing it.

There are no virus, trojan, worms, rootkits, spyware, adaware, BHO, etc checked and double checked also ran HiJackThis and all clean I've used CrapCleaner to clear out all temp files etc, Error Checked and defragmented regular.

I've used msconfig to stop some programs from starting at startup but these load after the logon screen and the time I'm trying to reduce is before the logon screen

So can anyone help and recommend a good easy to use Registry Cleaner that also does a backup and restore please

I use Regseeker, never had any problems and it's free as well!

Anyone used [link now removed] version 6 yet? I've been made a "special offer" but don't want to go messing up my machine if it's not good. Other current offers I've had are for Registry Booster, RegCure and Max Registry Cleaner, all of which seem to have some downsides

i had to do a system restore on a mates computer after he ran registry mechanic.
i wouldn't recommend it.

as has been said REGSUPREME has been error free for the past 6 years that i have been using it.

Welcome to the forum 00aardvark.

Your question has confused me as the website link in your signature/home page URL (now removed under the forum's Board Rules & Posting Guidelines) was advertising the product?
