Take a look at the DVD players handbook and it will tell you which file formats it is capable of playing. Just because it's a new and modern one doesn't mean it will play anything.

Use Nero to burn a Video Cd.

Copy and paste won't work. Did you use InCD to do that?

Open the Nero program and choose CD(ISO) or Data CD. Then browse to your avi file and burn it.

OK OK I can't go any faster! aaaaaaaaaaaagh!

You now have an .avi on a data cd. Check your DVD players user manual to see if it will play an .avi file. As it's still not playing I would think that it doesn't.

Use Nero to burn a vcd or a svcd. Check first though that it will play these formats. It should do, but check the user manual.
