I have just stumbled upon this true Gem of a site ActionTab.com
It's an online guitar tutor, but instead of just giving you tab to read or Midi to follow, it actually shows you a fretboard with finger positions, including bends/trills etc. and a real guitar plays the notes for you!, so you cna hear exactly how it should sound 
It's incredibly easy to follow if you're a beginner, very big and colourful, has loads of modern popular songs but best of all...
wait for it....
"It's Completely FREE!!!" You don't even have to download anything you just got to the site, choose a song & play along, Genius!
p.s. The site reccomends using Firefox Browser and the latest version of macromedia flash player.

I shall have a look at that, my son is learning and I thought I might try to, especially if its clear and easy to follow.
