A rant.
      #27221 - Fri Dec 05 2003 11:56 PM

3 (three b****y) hours offline. Who's fault ? Well that great team at BT. First off, been connected since approx. 7.30 am. 8.45 pm no connection. Phone BT Helpline (0800800060). Chris. Perfectly charming. (If you can understand Geordie, Townie or Sunderland [mackam I think they call it] Sorry didn't mean to digress or cast aspersions). Try this, try that (already tried what he asked, network connections etc). Ok only freephone number (I'm not paying). Test here, test this test that.............Go to Simon (08702404650) technical help ! Is the phone working alright ? You tell me, can you hear me mother, sorry Simon I meant. Runs BT diagnostics. Yeah. There's a fault. Been like that since 2 pm. Oh I've got wi-fi installed now then. Good package, Broadband that sometimes fails but when it fails wi-fi trips in. Dogs b******s. Yahoo, no not them. Hooray, no not the Henrys. Jolly good show old chap. He then informs me it might get sorted Saturday, could be Sunday with a view to it being more likely Monday. Harrumph, is that the correct pronunciation. Goodbye Simon thanks for all your efforts, (remembering does the phone work alright ?) One last go at connection. Voilą. Magnifico. Excellent. I'll give him a ring back, tell him not to bother...uh uh.....nah......see you later....Make your own mind up. lol

you have my sympathies, I hate it when i lose connection, but thankfully i haven't had to call the techies for broadband yet, NTL have a connection hotline, you ring a number and a recorded voice tells you if there are any problems and which areas are affected, i've only had to ring it once in over a year, (touch wood). and that was about 2 weeks ago when nearly everyone was affected.at least your back on line now.
"Okay, who stopped the payment on my reality check?"

Was about to sympathise with you earlier on OurStanley, when my NTL BB decided to die on me (grrrrrrrr!). Rang Tech Support and I've got to say they have always been extremely helpful, courteous and thorough in trying to assist. Operator said she could detect a fault their end, took my phone number but explained that the engineers don't work on Saturdays (thank goodness theres 2 comps in this house as I have some typing work to send via e-mail today). Within an hour, my BB decided to return and NTL called me back, yes an engineer is on his way here before noon today (obviously an engineer earning overtime for Xmas, but who cares!). Did explain to her that I'm back online but she still suggested the engineer to have a look! Good service or what? Full marks to NTL!!
Never put off till tomorrow what you can avoid all together
