I have this site at www.gonna.co.uk and have put a lot of effort into it. The site does have thousands of hits each month but doesn't seem to be keeping poeple going back or anything. Any feedback on the boards and the site would be great, thanks.

Loads nice and fast even on my modem. Looks really good. Just slightly too wide for 800x600 (has a horizontal scrollbar in IE6). Otherwise a very nice design. I like the gossip. Good luck with it.

Nickc, are you sure your on 800x600 resolution and not 640x480 because this site fits nicely on my screen and my neighbours. We're both using IE6 to view it as well. I've noticed that you have said this about a few sites that are fine on 800x600 screens.

Are there any bad areas of the site that nobody likes? and what do you think of the boards because thats my answer to keeping people going back to the site which is a big problem at the moment.
The site has been designed so it fits on both the popular screen sizes. so it should fit in perfectly.

I can't find anything I dislike about your site. I do like the "Gonna" Graphic, that caught my eye.

You've put together a lovely site. It looks good and is easy to navigate.
The only thing that concerned me was some links on the Music page. I clicked on several to be faced with Sorry the page you are looking for is not available. This is a good way to make people go elsewhere. The links should be removed until the relevant page is online.
I've book marked it so I can return for a more in depth look.

I've been told by some people that the grey isn't too good and makes it look a bit dull, anyone agree with that? I could of made it blue or something but i wanted to make the site different and not have colours which most other sites have so i hope i've achieved that. Great feedback so far.

I think your colours are fine. Too much strong colour can detract from the content and make it harder to read.
I think for colour and general layout ideas, looking at the major ISP's sites is good practise. The majority of the better sites are careful about there use of colour and try to avoid that cluttered look that is very easy to get.

Actually, No, because you have done a very fine job,
it looks professional, it is highly interactive. There is a superb range of topics on your message boards
From my perspective, as a non site designer mysef who has seen a few, a big thumbs up!

I think it's as good a site as I've seen, including those designed by full-time experts. But, and you seem to be looking for "buts", what is the intended market? What should set it out from others? If I hadn't come across the link on this forum, how would I have been drawn to the site? Mind you, I wouldn't have known many of the sites in My Favourites (where your site is destined) without referals from the worthies here! Keep it up. I'll be revisiting periodically.

The target Audience I would say is 20-30 year old's because i'm 20 and it's the sort of content i'm into and a lot of people i know who are the same age seem to be hooked on the site. But it's odd, i've put together a grand entertainment site which I put online October 2002 and popularity hasn't really improved at all. I've improved it constantly and people just don't seem to be sticking. There are sites like "Be On Screen" which launched a the same time as mine and it seems to be growing fast. Then again I suppose it depends on money!
I do think that the site has filled a gap in the market because there doesn't seem to a proper UK entertainment site covering music, tv, films and radio alltogether apart from the major sites like Yahoo and Co!

Really good site. Easy on the eye colours & simple navigation , as good as any TV & Movie site I've visited. You might find there are just too many similar type sites out there , hence your lack of increasing hit numbers. To hit it big , you really need to come up with something new / novel / value added or money saving , that most other sites may not yet be offering. No mention of PC or console gaming on YOUR site ? , but direct links to "GAME", one of the biggest rip off merchants in the gaming world with crap inexperienced young staff whose proper gaming knowledge is very limited (don't get me started) If your aim is entertainment and your targeted audience age is 20-30 surely gaming needs to feature up there alongside , if not over TV ? Also , the gossip type columns may predominantly only attract female visitors.
NB. The views expressed in this post are entirely and only my own "personal" opinions

Did have a Games channel but decided to take it off because I had too many areas of the site to update each day. As everyone watches television and the growing popularity with reality tv I picked tv over games. That is a problem trying to update such a large site which is a major part of keeping people sticked, theres nothing worse than a site which is never updated!
The only real publicity GoNNa had was when it was very briefly featured on a John Leslie documentary on sky one as It was one of the first sites to break the news.
The site is good with many visitors and hopefully in 2004 those visitors will grow!
