My Website
      #271485 - Sat Apr 01 2006 10:10 AM

I've been keeping my website up-to-date over the last few years, but have done quite a bit of tidying up recently.

Although the content might not be "your cup of tea", I'd appreciate people's comments about the layout and navigation.

I'm definitely not an expert, but this is what I think:
1. Layout = excellent. Easy on the eye, a pleasure to read.
2. Navigation = excellent. Easy, no problem to me and shouldn't be to anyone.
It's a very attractive site, I found myself reading things I didn't think I would find interesting, but they were!

I thought you might've linked WebUser as a useful site?

Good point. I'm just about to tidy up the homepage, so I'll add WebUser as a useful site after that.

Good site, some parts had me laughing out loud.

Well laid out and easy to navigate.

10/10

Well Done.

(You might have to take a re-look at your googlewack examples though, they are not googlewacks anymore!! )

Thanks for the comment - I'm glad I managed to amuse.

They were Googlewhacks when I wrote the page, but Google changed from using dictionary.com to using about.com, and that messed things up.

Hi Rob,

It looks fine to me, but I would centre the goolge ads and make the borders invisible, so that the border is the same colour as the web page.

You could also replace your search box with a Google search box, then you may get a little income from sponsored search results!

Thanks for the comments. I agree with centring (I hate to admit it, but centering looks like a much better spelling), but think I'll keep the borders, because I want to make it clear to visitors that they are adverts.

I used to use Google to search my site for the reason you mention, but decided to move to Freefind, because I can get Freefind to spider my site whenever I want to, rather than waiting for Google's monthly visit.

Thanks again for your comments.

No. It's something I've been meaning to get around to for ages, but have never quite managed it. As far as I can see, it's just a reformatting of an RSS feed.

There is a good tutorial on how to do a sitemap here

I used the audit my pc link from that site to do mine.

The links were interesting, but I think I'll just modify my site's RSS feed. It'll only take about 5 minutes, and will be automatically updated.

Thanks. There are still a few things that need changing, I might get around to doing it this weekend.
