Hi, thanks for reading. I'm trying to install a GeForce 6600LE into a PC running windows XP. The previous graphics card, also Nvidia worked fine. I uninstalled the old drivers, installed the new hardware into the AGP then booted up the computer. Windows 'install new hardware' detects the card, but cannot install the driver. 'There was a problem installing this hardware. Video controller (VGA compatible). An error occurred during the installation of the driver. The data is invalid.' Even installing the driver via the wizard on the enclosed CD does not work as get the same message when reboot computer and tries to autodetect it again. Device manager for the video controller says no driver has been installed and there is a code 1 error.
More than likely they drivers on the CD are out of date, however they should still work. In any case download and install the latest drivers from nVidia's website
Tried drivers from Nvidia web page but same problem. Eventually fixed by changing permission settings for the VGA driver in regedit. If anyone has similar problem then answer at http://www.technologyvault.co.uk/geforce...amp;layout=def. Thanks
