2 Questions please!
      #268312 - Sun Mar 19 2006 05:46 PM

Hi all
I'm currently living temporarily in a house with a pc on dial up!
1. When on some websites that i post on forums & i get knocked offline, i click back online & the post i have written has been saved! One in particular doesn't, it loggs me out & all i write has been lost. Why is this.

2. That particular website i get knocked offline regularly on & have to reboot to create a stronger dial up connection, like if i've been on the computer ages, the more chance i have of it beeing knocked off!

As soon as i get knocked off line, i get a box saying "socket error (hash sign) 10053 software caused connection abort.

Can anyone explain this.

Regards

Gary

You could try Google, there are a lot of entries for this error. Here's one.

Did you read the entire page?

This error also appears when sending mail in outlook when using AVG antivirus!! This can easily be rectified by going into the AVG e-mail properties - then "servers" and making sure that you activate the SMTP setting as it is set by default to disabled!! Easy as that!

Most of the entries I saw on Google seemed to relate this error to e-mail servers and AV programs. Have you tried what Mouse quoted from my link yet?
