Hi, i have created a site for a junior snooker player who hopes to become a professional in a couple of years. Its my first real attempt at a full site, so any constructive feedback would be greatly appreciated. Advice re search engines v welcome, as its not appearing, any ideas? Also can anyone recommend a good way to get a blog onto the site? Cheers, George

Hi querglefleeg, and welcome to the forum.

Good effort for a first site.

My immediate concerns were the images & navigation.

The images appear a tad squashed, this is because you are using HTML to resize them, which in itself isn't a problem, but the sizes in the code are not the same aspect ratio as the images themselves, hence the squashed look.

Try preparing/cropping the images to the size (and if larger, the same ratio) as needed on the site.

Navigation is a bit cumbersome. Having to go back from every page will put some people off. It would be preferable to have a global navigation (i.e. links to all the main pages, as one the homepage) across the top/bottom/side of every page. This way the user can go to any of the main pages from any page.

I like the green baize background, very appropriate. And the black Comic Sans font is clear and easy to read.

Well done, and good luck!

Cheers for the ideas, have you (or anyone else) got any idea why its not showing up in any search engine, i have submitted to google, yahoo etc, but nothing, a search in google reveals my original post to this forum but mot the actual site, which is frustrating!

Links from other sites help get your page to be featured on search results. Also you need to make sure that the text you search for appears on the page somewhere, in the title preferably.

Good luck.
