Multiple files
      #26740 - Wed Dec 03 2003 05:26 PM

Have embeded a midi file into an home page using:
<bgsound src="file name.mid" loop="1"> This works fine but could i play multiple files instead of the same one all the time? If so does anyone know the code? I am running Windows XP. Thanks folks!
Experience is a virtue only time can bring so what on Earth happened to me?

Well, I would do it using Total Recorder to string several wave files back to back, then save as one large file. Unfortunately it won't support MIDI files, though you could convert those into wave format, using something like MusicMatch JukeBox.

However, once we say "wave" we begin to talk file sizes, and page loading times. Just how essential are these files? Sound was a kewl gimmick five years ago, but today most users don't appreciate hanging about waiting for a tune to finish up. Small is sexy, when it's web design. :)
