Can anyone tell me why i can listen to bbc radio on my PC live (Realplayer), but i cannot seem to get the 'Listen Again' facility to work.
My 'Security' is 'Medium', and 'Privacy' is set at 'Accept All Cookies'.

I'm not positive as I don't use real player, as I use real player alternative, but have you tried re-installing real player?

Hi

I'm using RP Alternative to both listen live and to pick up some of the programmes I missed with no problems. Can you give us a bit more info about what happens when you try to listen to recorded programmes.

Thanks
I get the BBC info box superimposed on the screen with the buttons PLAY' (already depressed - you are listening to .......), PAUSE' and FORWARD FIVE MINUTES', but no sound. My Winamp and WMP plays fine though.

Could you do me a favour? Choose one of the programmes from this link, let me know which one and I will try it on my PC to make some comparisons.

Thanks
This is different;
Clicked on Afternoon Play 'Listen'
Dialogue Box - 'File Download' Opening (.ram file)
Dia' Box - 'Program Not Found'
Dia' Box - 'Browse for Folder'
Scrolled down & clicked on RealOne Player DB
Dia' Box - Windows cannot find RealPlay.exe

I cannot get 'Listen Live' to work either now.

Have you associated Real Alternative with Ram files?

Un-installed Real Alternative.
I have deleted my RealOne Player and re-installed it, and can listen to David Jacobs Live', but when I try to listen to this http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/dance/blueroom/ it brings up the BBC radio player window, but no sound.

In the BBC Player Window do you get the 'Loading' message followed by 'Playing'?

It sounds as if Real Player isn't finding the file correctly even though it says 'Playing'. I've got a 1mb BB connection and it displays 'contacting' for a second or two then it takes another 3 or 4 seconds to load before playing. This is the URL for that page http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/radio1_aod.shtml?blueroom. Can you just load up Real Player and use the File, New option to paste the url in and see if it will play that way. You could also try the same thing with Windows Media Player to see if it will play through that.

I got it!
Did what you said & the RealPlayer Media Browser opened & I pasted your URL and it worked. I have been on Digital Spy, PC Q & A, NTL boards for a month trying to solve this. Thanks!
How do I get the URL of next weeks prog?

I'm glad you got your programme to play but the solution I gave you shouldn't be necessary. What I did was to get to the BBC Radio Player and follow your link to the Blueroom. I then clicked on the button to listen to the programme and when the 'Playing Now' sign appeared I placed the mouse cursor over that box and did a right-click. I then chose properties and it gave me the URL of the programme. Highlight, copy and then paste.

Having said that I believe the problem must lie with the Real Player settings somewhere. It seems to be having a problem with streaming. Have a look through to see if you can see anything. Unfortunately I don't have Real installed so I can't go much further. Perhaps somebody else on the forum might be able to help.
