windows media player
      #25729 - Sat Nov 29 2003 12:28 PM

Help please
I have lost the ability to copy cd/s to my windows media player after copying a cd it will only play back very faintly, the windows media player said there was a fault with the cd drive and would not be able to copy correctly I do not have full details of what the message said it did not repeat itself. This problem occurs with the other cd drive i.e. the re writer as well. In addition, the same or similar condition occurs with Nero media player and another small programme I have tried. Besides all of this the player does not perform right, to copy the cd which it cannot; the track being copied is the one playing and it is copying at the speed it is being played plus to not listen to the track the sound has to be muted.
Thanks in anticipation
Tony

Ok let's start with some basic stuff but please feel free to ignore it.

Is the volume control set to an audible level in your versionof windows?,
are your speakers plugged in correctly?

try re-installing your audio drivers
try re-installing nero
make sure that all your internal cables are secured

Also, when you're copying, have you tried clicking on the player's stop button? Probably, but at this stage anything's worth considering.

Thanks for all your help, with the fact that you where having me check everything it is now working again but I think the only thing i have done is to check the copy digital box in media players settings. I do not know how it became unchecked and i do not understand how this caused the nero player to not work however it is working so thanks again
Tony
