Which Messenger do you mean? MSN? Windows? I've got MSN and it seems to work with all my contacts who've got either MSN or Windows Messenger. For example, I'm on BT Yahoo! dial-up and my messenger works fine with my daughter's and she's on Blue Yonder broadband. I don't think it matters who your ISP is, but not all messengers will "speak" to each other.

Regardless of your ISP you can use MSN.

Regardless of what email address you want to associate with MSN, you can still use it.

Don't feel upset by asking new questions, we all ask at some point

Cheers Madeline/Mouse, it looks as if all will be o.k. MSN is my intended means, I will have to bring it in direct as I cannot see anything in all the pages of Wanadoo. I will get there somehow, thanks again.
Mouse you told me re Ccleaner being free, but everyhing seems to end up with only a trial period, then.........

Madeline/mouse got MSN ok but think that problem with Email through it might not be the best. The first I tried came up with the .net ptoblem as the receiver is with Yahoo, it said that as it was .net it could not connect, if I can convert then I will find out how and do it. I am also one of these loyal type people and it annoys me that I may have to do this as I have no problems with Wanadoo.
Mouse - Thanks for download marker it did the trick Cauldbum

Mouse I see that Roddycam is obviously having similar probs to me , and you suggest another provider, do you not think I should try Yahoo also. The one person I do want to connect with is with Yahoo, but Ido not want to change unless I have to !!!!!

cauldbum, you don't need to change your ISP.

The person you want to talk to are they using YAHOO MESSENGER as apposed to MSN MESSENGER?

If so then you need to download and install YAHOO MESSENGER to communicate with them, DON'T use MSN. Click for Yahoo messenger

Tried to download Yahoo Messenger, but it said could not find DLL Library and that was that. Also does this mean that Messengers do not work with each other as I thought ?

Yahoo works with Yahoo, MSN works with MSN and so on.

You can't mingle the two, there is something out there that works with them all but I've heard it has problems.

I think you might mean Trillian. It looks as if MSN and Yahoo! Messengers may soon be able to talk to each other. Have a look here.

I am still trying to find DLL Library as without it I cannot get Yahoo messenger. Looked at Trillion as per your reply, but not having Quicktime 7 will also have to source that
Cheers Madeline

Can you be more precise about this 'DLL Library'. What is the exact error message?

After what appears to be finishing download the next box asks me to click on start, and then this message appears :-
Error
Could not find DLL LIBRARY.
The specified module could not be found.
Click on ok and it goes back to beginning again.

You're welcome. I hope you get it sorted soon. Can't help with the DLL Library problem unfortunately.

Unfortunately that message means nothing to me. The term DLL is short for Dynamic Link Library and the suffix attached to a file indicates that the file has got a library of actions to be taken by an executable programme in various circumstances. The error message indicates that a programme is looking for a library file but it doesn't tell us which one so it's not much help. Are there any other messages besides this one?

unfortunately not, that is all that appears in the box. I may have to go to Dell computer people and ask them , why it's not there. I assume then that library items should be in the set up when one gets it, the program like others would accept that it would be there. Going to Dell will be a nightmare so I will try a few avenues first.
Much appreciated Cauldbum
