when im playing games with my kids on my pc,like i bought new rayman for them and other games they seem to play really slow as if its slow motion and its really anoying any ideas what could be causing this also if im playing a music cd and surfing the net at the same time and if im scrolling down a page it sounds like the cd jumps and crackles im sorry for all the questions as im new to this computer larky but enjoying every minute of it, this site is the best for all imfo and you guys are doing a great job at web user keep up the good work.

The most likely cause is not enough RAM (Random Access Memory), though we might be able to give you an alternative course of action if we knew what version of Windows you have

Don't worry about asking lots of questions, nobody ever learnt anything by staying quiet, and no one here will object to answering them for you

Ok so realistically you should have a MINIMUM of 128Mb ram and preferably 256Mb

Could you go to Start | Control Panel | System

On the General tab at the bottom, it will tell you how much RAM you have installed. could you post that back for us?

1.80ghz 240mb of ram
