We have NTL broadband , my wife wants a laptop . What do I need to do so she will be able to use the internet on the laptop ? Wireless router or something like that ? I am a bit of a novice so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated........Thank you ........

If you can live with a wired connection then all you need is one of these and a couple of these.
A wired setup is a lot more reliable and a lot cheaper but if you want to go down the wireless route you will need something like this for your router, one of these for the PC and one of these for the laptop.
The hardware links I've given are just examples and you don't have to get your equipment from EBuyer.

Thank you very much for replying.....i already have a netgear 54mbps wireless pci adapter 32 bit pc1 wg311 still in the box , so will that do for the pc ? I am going to buy a wireless enabled laptop so does that mean i only need to buy the router ?My PC is P4 ....768 ram...a couple of years old....Thanks.......

I think the answer to both questions is 'Yes'. It is recommended that when setting up a wireless network you connect everything together using ethernet cables first, get the network up and running then convert to wireless. It follows that you'll need a couple of ethernet cables on a temporary basis.
