AOL Frequently disconnected in evening
      #235956 - Fri Nov 04 2005 07:39 PM

Can anyone help with this? I have AOOL Broadband, The connection during the days is absolutely fine, but after 6:30pm ish, it jusy keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. This happens EVERYDAY at the same time.

Using the Alcatel Sppedtouch USB modem provided. If anyone has got any real suggestions as to what the problem is, please let me know.

Many Thanks
]
Mike

Check if your Modem is sitting close to something that switches on a timer like a washing machine/ Video player / Central heating? May be picking up Radio interference or small electrical spike which is being picked up? Sensitve electrical equipment like Modems are supposed to be shielded against this Normal cure is to fit a RF Choke in the power supply cable (clips over the cable) but I don't know of one to fit to a USB cable Maplins may stock them? (but thats a guess!)
