My first php site
      #232898 - Mon Oct 24 2005 12:59 PM

This is my first attempt at php scripting and I am very pleased with the results. I suppose microsoft frontpage can now go in the recycle bin. I would love any feedback. http://www.savetherennets.com

Cheers

Like the design; crisp and clear.

I'm no expert, but is it not the case that, although a cheese may not actually be labelled vegetarian (a contradiction, IMHO) it doesn't necessarily mean it's been produced with animal enzyme rennet, but could equally be made with microbial rennet. Yes, I'm splitting hairs, but a grey area nonetheless.

Still like the site though, and good luck with the campaign.

Hello Mark,

well done! That's a lovely site, the design is really tidy, professional and easy to navigate around.

The thought that my cheese has minced boiled rodents in is certainly offputting! What a grim process. I might have to look for some vegetarian cheese.

Jim

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I am currently putting together a "rate my rennet" type thing together so that visitors can upload pictures of rennets!

Have fun
Mark

I have just spent far too long looking at Jim's site, http://www.jimpix.co.uk/ , when I should have been completing mine. Great site - I especially liked the flash stuff.

Thanks Mark ... I'm pleased you like the site. The flash stuff is pretty addictive to make, now it's winter again, and the dark nights are here, I've been having a good old play again, trying to come up with some new content.

All the best

Jim

You are a pretty awesome photographer too Jim. I have added the rate my rennet bit on the site which is looking good. If you ever feel the need to pass on some flash stuff my way for the rennets web site feel free. I have dabbled with flash but need to spend more time on it.

Thanks Mark,

I like the rating option, and the random photos are good too.

Would be nice to have a link back to the homepage from the rate the rennets section...

Take care

Jim

Yes I agree the link is small (at the bottom) and not very obvious. Will add something clearer - Thanks Jim

Great site. I'd like to say that I'm saving rennetts on the basis I'm allergic to cheese but at the same time I have 7 cats so.... not so much.

Pleased to see that you are saving the rennets Gary. I am sure that it has been mentioned elsewhere on the forum but I do recommend www.statcounter.com for free counters. The rennet site has been up for just over a week and it has had almost 1500 unique hits.

I know I shouldn't reply to my own post but I have tidied up the rennets site a bit. The blog bit works but is difficult to find as it at the bottom of the page. Should I add buttons to the bottoms?

Hi,

I would definitely try and get the blog link in your top menu. the others are ok down there, but the blog should get a promotion. Also, the seagulls link didn't work, but you may just be working on it?

I really like the look of your site, good stuff.

Mark.

Thanks Mark

I have got the seagull link working and will put the blog on the top menu. Although I think the blog style is not quite right yet.

As it is Christmas (and like I care) would anybody like to check out the political correctness of this bit? http://www.savetherennets.com/religion.php Happy new year.

In what way are you allergic to cheese? I don't eat cheese either. I used to have 4 cats.
