A month or two back, the amateur Theatre company (Indulgence Theatre) that my wife belongs to decided that it would be nice to be on the Internet. My wife said that I 'know computers' so I got duly roped into doing the Web Site.
So, here it is. My first Web site, what do you think of it?

I would agree with your wife 'you know computers'. A professional looking site, loads quickly and easily on dial up and looks good

Hi there, nice site you have, I think it looks pretty good and the presentation is nice, im in lincoln too here so its always nice to see some local happenings! The only thing I would suggest you do, is to take the email address off the main page so it is not viewable to everyone. Doing this will help prevent spam harvesting and instead, put a contacts page up using a form so at least your email addy is not directly revealed on your web page itself.

Hi all,
Thanks for the comments, I have to admit that I was dreading reading the first reply just in case it said that the site was awful but I was pleasantly surprised... cheers!
Fusion - No free drinks as of yet, but at least I've earned myself lots of smartie points with the Wife, I might need them the next time I forget to mow the lawn or something!
Percy - Thanks for the advice about the email address, I have now put a contact form on the site and have taken all references to the Indulgence email address off of the pages. Has that sorted the problem?

The contacts page look great, the only thing left I can comment on is that the link does not stick out and could be easily missed if someone is just scanning the page over and not fully reading it, if you do not wish to use different link colours how about underlining the link ??

It really is nice to get positive views on the site, everyone in Indulgence seems to like it... still no free drinks though 
If you are building a website and want to find out find out the total page size,commposition and the approx. page load times the give this a go (it's free by the way):

The first time I used it my Home Page was over 600k! It turns out that every image in the Nav menu that I had made using Fireworks had been created as the default .bmp format. After changing to .gif and .jpg formats the total page size came down...lots.
There are also some good tips to optimise the size of your web page, one example was to get rid of the white space in the coding. I tried that and saved over 2k on each page.
Anyway, thanks again for the lovely comments, and if there is anything that anyone feels could be changed or improved upon then I would love to know, fresh eyes and an impartial opinion is always a good thing!

You're welcome; I hope the site goes from strength to strength. Maybe you should show some of the people from the theatre this thread. It might shame them into buying you a few "thank you" drinks!
