I recently had ntl fitted and opted to use a wireless connection. I purchased a belkin ADSL router with wireless g adaptor. I assumed that i just plugged the ethernet cable in the port on the back of the router, and plugged the usb g adaptor into the usb port on the back of my computer. I thought once i had done this it that it would all work. However the only way i can connect is to plug the set top box straight into my computer. I need a wireless connection as the set top box is downstairs and my computer has to go upstairs.
Thanks for the info. I have been out and bought a wireless g desktop network card. I can get the router and my computer to connect but i still cant use the internet. I have been on the pages for my router that you explained on the thread you asked me to read and it is all the same apart from when i click on Dynamic ip address there is nowhere to type in NTL. Any ideas.
I've got a Belkin too and mine didn't work at first. In an obscure bit of the handbook it says that siting the router near a cordless landline base-station can cause a problem. Luckily NTL left me plenty of wire length on the modem, so I moved it and it now works fine. Could this be your problem?
