NTL problems (II)

Hi, sorry to hijack the thread ,but , i have NTL and sometimes when i click on IE the box comes up that says no connection to the internet is currently available , " work offline " and "try again" so i click try again and all is well . I just wondered if you knew why it does that or does it need tweeking somewhere . It only started doing it this year and i have broadband working with windows 98 SE. any help will be appreciated , THANKS

Which NTL package do you have, cable or ADSL? If cable what download speed are you paying for?

Have you checked that your NTL BB modem is working OK? It's sometimes worth rebooting the NTL box to renew the IP address and reset everything.

i've had NTL for 6 years with no problems, name me one ISP that doesn't have unsatisfied customers.

NTL hasn't given me any reliabilty problems.

NTL are a nightmare wait till you change to another ISP they will not stop taking your money for months it took me 9 mths before they stopped taking my money and i never got my costs back, you try ringing India everyday just to be lied to time and time again in the end i yes me had to prove i had not used NTL for over 6 mths before they got my money back god help a lesser being

Afraid I disagree with you. I had no problems at all when I closed my NTL accounts (5 in total) when I moved. Was even given the direct phone line of one of the management team who ensured that all accounts were closed smoothly until I reopened a new account with them. You could have also requested your bank to stop any NTL payments going from your account too (you also have "control" of your direct debits).
