I'm considering migrating from BTYahoo to Plusnet. The major hurdle I have is that I have a lot of stored emails on the BTYahoo server and ideally I would like to keep this email account. I've noticed the Yahoo Plus mail service that costs £12 a year is exactly the same. I'm wondering whether signing up for the paid service now using my current btopenworld address will result in keeping the email account I have. I would hate to assume this is the case and then lose all my emails when I migrate. I think I'm on safe ground but would be interested to hear from anyone else who has done this.

I haven't done this, I was with BT Openworld Anytime and now it's BT Yahoo! Anytime (dial-up). I think the only way you could keep your e-mail with BT Yahoo! would be to sign up with their Pay As You Go package. I think there's a monthly fee for this and you would pay for the time you're on-line to deal with your e-mail. Madeline.

Why not open a GMail account and transfer all your stored emails to that?

Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.

If you don't want to use BT Yahoo! for sending/receiving e-mails, what greysts suggests sounds like a good option. If you do still want to use your BT Yahoo! e-mail account actively, you can see the charges and sign up for Pay As You Go here. There isn't a monthly fee and the charges appear on your phone bill.
