The speeds can vary wildly depending on what you are doing even sites you visit and of course Traffic to those sites causing Lag (aka Latency) plus many other factors... My set up is a 512 MB Broadband link with AOL download speed Theoretically is 576 k, and uploading is 288 k In practice the speeds are high 40's to mid 50's downloading and about 250k upload. On a streaming video can vary wildly it plays at 300k sometimes or have to go all the way down to Dialup to get a response If you are downloading a large file do consider a Download Manager (check out www.leechget.net/en/ ) This will grab the whole program even if the download speed fades away to a trickle even runs at faster than usual speeds! Has no spyware so it is safe (freeware) PS Internally things like the RAM size and the BusSpeed (see this link... www.directron.com/fsbguide.html )can also infuence things Therefore could be your computer setup is outdated?

id also look at your pcs virtual memory coz if this is full it can slow down your pc esp if you have linked up to a network.

It doesn't matter who you were "talking" to, there's no need to be rude to ANYONE in here. How on earth were they expected to know you had Limewire in the first place? It would have been just as easy to have posted "already have it thank you" instead of your ignorant response. If you want help from the forum (I've noticed you've posted a HJT Log), then you should be courteous at all times. Thank you

Shouldn't that read "Sorry guys and gals". Not everyone on here is male, you know! BTW, nice looking site you've got, though I think that in places you should change the spelling of memebers to members! Sometimes it's right, sometimes not. Madeline.

Americans, and increasingly English/European folk use the plural -- "guys," g-u-y-s -- to address both men and women together. It's simpler and more casual than saying, for example, "guys and gals," or "ladies and gentlemen."
