I am very happy with the FireFox browser and do not use IE anymore. However I use MSN Messenger frequently and whilst clicking links from Messenger (retreving emails or loading "myspace") they load in IE. Firefox is my default browser and if anyone sends me a link to a webpage in a conversation it loads in firefox. Does anyone know how to make firefox reign supreme?

In Firefox, Go to Tools | Options | general and make firefox your default browser

As i said, firefox is already my default browser and works to that status in every other aspect. It is just this problem with messenger. Anyone?

Sorry to be a pain, i have gone to add remove programs and the only tabs i can click on are; "change or remove programs" "add new programs" or "add/remove windows components" I am running XP Pro SP1 if it helps. Can i access the area you just described in any other way?

If you get SP2, what Iain describes can be accessed on the Start menu. I can't remember what happened before I had SP2. Madeline.

I have this same problem, using msn messenger I sometimes open my email inbox and it automatically opens up in IE. I went into control panel>>add remove programs>> program access and defaults. Made sure my default browser said Firefox and even unchecked the box for "enable access to this program" for IE and the bloody thing still opens up in IE! It just refuses to go away!

I think that this will happen regardless of the fact that your default browser is Firefox. MSN is short for MicroSoftNetwork and so it's logical that your E-mail Inbox via MSN Messenger will open in IE. I think that you'll probably have to live with it! Madeline.

Did you have a read of the MozillaZine page linked to in an earlier post? There is some information and an explanation there.
Edit: Sorry, clicked the wrong reply button. This post is re: abbafan1972's comment.
