ebay non access
      #197366 - Tue Jun 07 2005 09:39 PM

I have had this request on general p,c, related for several days without response. maybe no one can help, but just in case it is because it is in the wrong section I will put it here. I can not access ebay because of the followind window which comes up every time, ' An error has occurred in the script on this page ' then in a vertical column ' line 20 ' 'char 29' 'erropr ebay Carling is undefined ' cod 0 'url http/www.ebay.co.uk ' ' Do you want to continue running scripts on this page ' YES or NO. clicking on either just brings the window back again. I have browsed settings and there is a check mark against script debugging and I have read the script problems on this page, Is there anything else I can do. the problem only applies to ebay.

It seems tha both my own and other similar problems with script de-bugging have not been answered satisfactorly. with the help of e-bay ( via another P.C. ) I have now resolved my own problem. the following worked for me. Maybe it will for others. Select 'Tools' 'internet options' ' Advanced' scroll down to Java 9 sun 0 ' 'check the box next to 'use Java 2 version' scroll down to 'scripting of Java applets' 'scroll down tosecurity to enable SSL 3.0 'Make sure they are checked. then select Security and select custom and make sure the enable button radio button is checked. Click O.K. first party and session cookies should also be allowed. Click on Pricacy tab then ' advanced button. Make sure both accept radio buttons are selected even if greyed out. If not then they can be selected by checking ' override cookie handling. The above is how it was given to me by e-bay and I am now able to access the site again.
