A friend of mine has recently connected to Tiscali Broadband 2.3mbps. The installation was Ok and the internet surfing is fine.
The problem that they are experiencing is a weak phone line when the computer is on even when it's not connected to the internet. ( by this i mean they can hardly hear the person on the other end).
As soon as the Pc is off the phone line is back to normal. Also when a phone call comes in or one is being dialed the connection is lost.
Tiscali has sent some new filters but the problem is still there.
Have you asked BT to test the line and possibly turn up the gain?
